  • Future Plans for Wellness at FHS

Exciting changes are underway at FHS in the area of personal wellness for all within the FHS community. FHS students are being given an updated PE program geared towards health, fitness, and combating childhood obesity. Upon graduation, students will have the skills to carry on lifelong fitness.

Some of the prospective plans include:

    • With the help of FFF (Fairview Friends Foundation), Fairview is refitting their gyms to make the “in-house” health club needed to carry out this program.
    • The racquetball court is being refitted into a spinning room.
    • The basement weight room will provide yoga, kettlebell, and aerobic style fitness classes.
    • The upstairs gym (Mat Room) will contain free weights, circuit training, and cardio machines.
    • Student PE courses will be based on individual fitness needs and cardiovascular activity.
    • To help support the kids, their families, current faculty, alumni, and FFL members, the fitness club will be open after school hours, giving folks a place to work out and learn together.

In order to achieve this ambitious goal, Fairview is requesting donations from the FHS community:
